Update: August 7, 2022

I wasn’t expecting to be focusing so much on creating content for the websites lately, but things in the world have been rather crazy.  I’m going to assume that the resolution won’t be happening until at least the beginning of October since it hasn’t happened yet.  I hope it can happen before the midterm elections.

In the meantime I’m going be focusing more on technical enhancements with the websites, and I’ll be sticking with that for a while.  I’ve previously implemented a basic functionality of being able to update NOITV remotely, and I’ll be performing additional enhancements to that, such as making a better directory section that can be remotely updated.

I’ve also been noticing issues with the search engine listings that I will be fixing, and eventually I’ll implement an internal search functionality for NOITV that can be created using mostly off-the-shelf prebuilt components.

Assuming the resolution will happen at the beginning of October, I will be ready to delegate the development of other technical aspects of the site at that time— starting with working on design changes on the surface of the site, since that is something which can be easy to delegate when the time comes.  I don’t expect to change the appearance of the site much, but I want to make it wider and “responsive” so it adapts itself to mobile devices as well as possible, as well as improving the fonts.  The current design is about 15 years old!  For the time being viewers of the site can “magnify” the page in the browser to make it larger and wider, I assume that is what people have been doing.

I will also want to start delegating the creation of content as soon as possible once the resolution happens, which would be easy to do, and it is the point of all the recent technical enhancements.  I think it would be most effective for me to find a like-minded manager who would be remotely coordinating that so I could then focus on other things, but at first I would manage that myself.

While the remote updating aspects of the site will be very optimized in a few months, I would like to eventually do even more development of that aspect by employing the remote help of “construction programmers,” by providing specifications for them to build individual programming language functions that I could designate using pseudo-code.  Such programmers could still be learning how to program and they don’t necessarily need to be experts.  Particularly I will be looking for people who know or are learning PHP, JQuery, Javascript, CGI-Bin, and WordPress development including creating plugins.  I’m an expert or very familiar will most of those technologies, although there is more I need to learn with JQuery and CGI-Bin.  (It will also be great to be able to speak with consultants about all types of technical issues.)

There will be a point where I would reach a threshold of not needing to focus as much on the programming aspects, although there is a good amount that I still want to do in the meantime.  In any event I will be able to accomplish a lot by myself in the coming few months so delegating programming won’t be a necessity right away after the resolution.

Eventually I’m hoping to find people who would be willing to donate their time for such technical tasks, otherwise the development would be very expensive.  I think the process of doing that would be very effective since I’ve developed the code up until now and thus I’m completely familiar with all of it, and also I have all sorts of specific plans already laid out for future development.  And since the programming tasks would be piece-by-piece they would not require a lengthy commitment by the people working on them.

There are also other tasks that I hope people would be willing to donate their time with, such as transcribing technical information that would not really require technical knowledge to do except for knowing how to use the software that is necessary for transcribing it.

I will be busy with things in the meantime.  I hope all is well..
