A new blender!

I’ve finally taken the plunge and bought one of those high powered blenders!  In the past I’ve prided myself on “being able to get by fine without one,” but I’ve decided that it would be worth it to get one mostly because I want to be able to make hemp milk with as little remaining pulp as possible.

The Soyabella works good for help milk also but it leaves a fair amount of hempseed pulp.  It is actually a device which is intended to make soy milk because it’s able to first boil it the soybeans which is necessary for that process.  In the past as an experiment I tried pressure cooking the remaining hemp seed pulp to see if it could be softened that way, but even that didn’t have any effect, even after an hour of being cooked that way!

When I blend the hemp seeds with the blender, it pulverizes it to the point of becoming liquid so there almost no pulp remaining whatsoever!  The blender really heats up the liquid.  Also the blender can be used for a lot of other tasks that can’t be done with normal blenders, such as making banana sorbet from frozen bananas.
